Performance parts suggestions

Ok ... so I'm sure you've read the post where everything went downhill in a hurry on my 96 2 door Neon. Well, things are looking up right now and I'm ready to just do a few mods and keep this one a daily driver. So far I've decided to install a 95 cam, a set of Pacesetter headers and a muffler. Now, I would like to know what muffler is a decent one to use on a daily driver that has alittle noise to it, but not a full blown race muffler so I don't see the pretty lights in my rear view mirror!! Thanks to suggestions from Das, I've chosen to do the above so are there any other little bolt on's that really help performance wise that are fairly inexpensive? What would you all recommend. I'm more schooled in the muscle cars and V8-V12 engines so I fully understand the way compression and cams and stroke and all that can work together to make a stout engine .... BUT this is a 4cyl which I've never really thought about doing until now and I know everything is relevant BUT I know there are some of you out here that have done quite a bit with the 2.0 SOHC and have knowledge of what works and what doesn't. Don't be afraid to make suggestions. You've all been very helpful and I thank you for that!!! This is turning out to be more fun than I thought it would be!! (of course after I cooled down from the catastrophe.)

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let anyone using our Digimoto 5 software that we have a new release. A nice cheap upgrade is swapping in a throttle body from an ATX neon. They are 52mm as opposed to the 49mm one. You can also build your own 3.0L intake. You get a air intake tube from a mid 90's V6 and build your own. There is a how-to on here somewhere I have posted before.

Also a Mopar Performance PCM will be a very nice addition after you perform all the above mods. After that, you start digging into the block with Pistons, Rods, port and polished heads and so on.

I just read the whole 3.0 intake thing last night on here!! LOL I'm planning on doing that ... my car is already an ATX and I may keep that as I don't have a MTX to put in it. Do they make Performance PCM's for ATX cars? How about a shift kit? Has anyone used one? How good does it work? I've been searching for a reverse/manual valve body, but haven't seen any yet. Does such a thing exist? (Yep ... the old school is making me think of what I could do, but the market is keeping it at just that ... could do!)

They don't make a Performance PCM for the ATX, but you can still use one if you run a tranny cooler or install a toggle switch for the Lockup Torque Converter.

Modern Performance use to sell a shift kit for the ATX, but I don't know if they still carry it.

Some great reading there Das!! Exactly what I'm after! A free shift kit and easy to do! Who could ask for more!!?? I'm used to the 3 or 4 gaskets and specially fabricated plates and having to drill this and that to install a shift kit in the RWD cars. This is cake work! I think I'm gonna make this first engine all motor .... the second will be boosted. I'm gonna go with the Crane cam they mentioned. Of course heavier rate springs would be a given. I'm used to .630 or more lift roller cams with 1.6 ratio rockers if that gives you an idea of what I usually do. Thanks for that helpful link Das! You need some sort of award or something!

I have been working on and tuning neons for awhile now, so I have run across a lot of helpful sites.
