Hi,
Back in 2006, my accord was overheating and I got a new radiator put in. Now its overheating again and my mechanic says that the radiator cracked. Anyone know why this is happening? How long is a brand new radiator suppose to last? Getting frustrating... swb1 |

Re: 97 accord over heating again
So the radiator was leaking? Did it blow because the radiator cap didn't release pressure or was the radiator defective? Was the coolant 50-50 antifreeze/water? Warranty depends on where you got the radiator. Usually parts are warranted for a year. Some aftermarket places warrant for the life of the car.

Yes, the radiator was leaking. I use Prestone 50/50 Coolant Mix. Mechanic says that too much pressure built up and the radiator cracked. Just don't know why the pressure bulit up in the first place. Especially after replacing the radiator after the same thing happened back in 2007.

Re: 97 accord over heating again
Sticky theromstat, bad radiator cap and head gasket leak are 3 things that come to mind.
