1. I need to replace the passenger side axle on my g20. I have a price of $80 for a rebuilt one. In searching the archives here and elsewhere there seems to be some dispute about the best way to remove the old axle. One group says the ball joint must be disconnected, which I know is difficult, while another group says this is unnecessary and all that needs to be done is to disconnect the upper control arm. Which is correct? Obviously, I would prefer not to have to separate the ball joint. 2. I need to replace the front brakes and install new rotors. The rotors have been machined twice so I doubt that I can reuse them. I have two options for new rotors: BrakeBest (made in Canada/USA) vs. Mountain (Made in Japan). The prices are similar. Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with these brands. What about pads? I have used the most expensive Wagner and Raybestos brands on my domestic cars in the past. Any problems with these for the g20? |

I never separate the ball joints when pulling the halfshafts.
