1996 Plymouth Voyager Beeping -- Please Help

Hello everyone... I am a first time poster but I honestly can not figure this out. I have a 1996 Plymouth Voyager, and when you turn the van on and wait about 45 - 60 seconds, the van starts beeping over and over and over again. All of the doors are shut, the door ajar light does NOT come on. The lights don't flash... there are no visible signs as to what is wrong except for the beeping. It is literally the most annoying sound I've ever heard in my life.

If anyone has any idea what the problem could be... I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance.

The Body Control Module (BCM) produces the tones for many of the alert functions from various systems. It's under the dash forward of your left knee secured to the top of the interior fuse panel (Junction Block). Try pulling the IOD fuse in the under hood fuse panel (PDC) for 3 minutes. This will reset the BCM and hopefully your beep.

Thank you so much for replying. Unfortunately, resetting the BCM didn't work. Do you know if there is an relay or fuse outside of the BCM that we could pull?

The sound that it makes are the same as the warning sounds for when you leave your headlights on and open the driver side door, or you leave the keys in the ignition. Like I said before though it does it pretty much the entire time the vehicle is running even when the lights are off and all doors are shut.

There is more than one breaker that effects the BCM. Unfortunately if you pull one it can effect several systems. I have read recently where someone removed the buzzer from the BCM. I would imagine he just de-soldered it form the circuit board.

Sometimes it takes several resets to get it done. Some have better luck disconnecting the battery over night. BCMs can be had for as little as $50 from a junkyard. It can be tough to find the required exact same part number BCM. $300 from various sources on the net and $500+ from the dealer.

Does your oil light come on when the key is in the "key on engine off" position?

Here's a long shot... If your oil light doesn't come on in the "KOEO" then it's possible it is burned out. If that's the case, AND you also have low oil pressure when the engine is idling, the car is beeping because of your oil pressure, but you don't know that because the oil light is burned out. My '97 chimes when the oil pressure drops.

Just a thought. Good luck.
