Guage Question

Does anybody know if the guage cluster in a YJ model is tied to the ECM?
The temp and oil press guage have died and I would like to replace them with manual guages. To do this I would have to take the printed circuit material out of the cluster for them and I am wondering if this would mess with the ECM in any way.

I believe that the computer has it own temp sensor. Have you tried to check the ground wires on the cluster sometimes they come loose. You can also try replacing the cluster with a replacement from your local junkyard.

Re: Guage Question

Yep, YJ guages are typically not ecm controlled. What year is yours anyway?

Re: Guage Question

It's a 95. I would like to replace all except the fuel guage in the dash with manual guages.
