Inconsistent RPMS

As you guys may know, i "think" i have some head gasket issues. It doesn't idle as smooth as it should. And now, it seems like it does it more, so much that this morning when i started it "cold" it sounded like i had a cam in it lol..sounded pretty sick too, until it stalled when i got into the street (but thats solely because it was cold). And NOW i notice RPM fluctuations when i'm on the gas "which never happened before" especially between 1700-2000 RPMs so whatever the problem truly is it must be getting worse. Anyway i just thought i'd post this, even though i already know its going to take some serious digging into the engine to get this thing fixed. Ahh well, its a labor of love i guess.

Re: Inconsistent RPMS

You may want to do a compression and cylinder leak down test.
Sounds like it could be valves or a serious vacuum leak.

Already did a compression test, guess you didnt see the post. But basically one side of the engine was stuck in the "red zone" according to my gauge and never left about 95-100 psi, whereas the other side of the engine had upwards of 140ish.

One more IMPORTANT thing to note, i just noticed this, but when i start the car up cold i can hear this ticking noise almost like an exhaust leak, once the engine warms up it goes away so i'm assuming this could be the head gasket.

Sorry, I have not been following the saga of your car.

Sounds like it's time for a tear down.

While you are at it, you should probably change timing chain and gears.
