should she stay or should she go

im sure this is a very overworked subject you guys(girls) are sick of. but ill ask neway. i have a 2000 3.8 auto with about 121xxx on it. all stock except for the typical audio upgrades. i really would like to get a 00-02 z28 or ss but i still owe about 3k on it (im sure ill take a dive on it if id trade it in) and the military dosent have the greatest of paychecks (only an e-3..ill be an e-4 soon! ) id really like to have a manual and the v8 (mainly for the exhaust lol). idk if i can justify taking a loss and then going and spending no more then 12 or 13k for a car thats exactly like mine for a little speed and a stick shift...or just fix mine (its got this crazy noise in the rear end when i turn..i had my mechanic (im an airplane mechanic NOT a car mechanic at all!) take a look last year and he found my cat to be bad..so 600 later plus some other fun stuff (i was broke last year..crazy, now ex and her spending habits) and it didnt fix the issue so this year i got some pennies saved up so i wanna have him fix it... so after that mumble should i get the z28/SS or should i just do the typical mods that look good since i dont care for racing or speed really i just want it to look "cool"
