99 Lesabre Custom: Trunk Release

I just got a 99 LeSabre custom. I've been hunting and digging and searching for the trunk release inside the car. I think it's supposed to be in the glove box and I'll looked all over inside the glove box and have been unable to find it. I did however find a lil cover where I think it's supposed to be on the left inside the glove box. Could someone confirm that I found where it's supposed to be and maybe help me find one online. Thank you. Brad

Do you have an owner's manual in the glovebox to show you a picture?

Since your car is a Custom you may not have a remote trunk release. It should be on the left side of the dash below the light switches. Inside the glovebox is a switch to turn off the trunk release for valet parking where you don't want someone raiding the trunk. It might have been a aprt of an SB or SC package of options. Or it might only have been on the Limited.

If you check your RPO list in the trunk on the cover over the spare tire under the carpet, it may or may not say 6H6 which is automatic trunk release.

Look for RPO codes for GM on the net.
