My self cancelling left turn signal stopped cancelling and I assume I need a new switch (or at least the cam that does the self cancelling). Can this item be replaced without puilling off the steering wheel or will that be necessary? Makes the difference whether I try to do it myself or have to hire a mechanic.
Thanks! Paul |

You'll have to pull the wheel. You will need a steering wheel puller kit to get all the pieces out of the way. The cancel springs can be serviced separately and are available at the dealer. There is a left and right spring so make sure you get the right one. There cheep enough that you may just want to replace both at the same time.

Do you think a backyard mechanic can pull a wheel, or should a pro do it?

They are not that bad to do. The hardest part is removing the snap ring that holds the locking plate in place. Once its out of the way the springs are right there.

I'm gonna give it a shot. Worst that can happen is I have to have the vehicle towed and have it put back together at the mechanic shop. I'll tell him I wanted to get the "easy" stuff out of the way for him.
