Venture steering

Perhaps this topic has been covered before but I will ask and you may be able to direct me to thread or address the issue.

I recently purchased a 2004 Chevy venture. the steering seemded to be erratic so took to mechanic to look at. Needed and replaced a tie rod and one of the wheel bearings. Result the steering was much better. very tight steering but seemingly to tight. Discussed issue with mechanic and we reviewed power steering system. All seemed to be in order. He even allowed me to steer an 02 Olds silhouette which seemed to be tight. However (my GF says I'm spoiled from driving my Camry) I do not believe that the steering should be such an effort. Is this just typical of this vehicle or is there a solution?

Re: Venture steering

Going from a Camry to a Venture is like going from a speedboat to trying to dock the Queen Mary2 in a strong hurricane LOL. Don't expect the same from the 2 cars. Going from my Prius to my wife's Venture requires some getting used to also.
