2000, Window Motor

2000 V6

The drivers side window is stuck down and the passenger works fine. There is no motor sounds at all but when I push the up/down button I hear a "click".

But the side mirror does work. Is the window and power side mirror on seperate motors? If one stops working will both stop?

Thanks for all the help you guys provide for us amateurs.

Yes they are separate motors independent of each other.
What was the last thing the window did, did it give any signal it was going, like going up and down slower than usual or making any noises or burning smell?

Re: 2000, Window Motor

Hi "The Bob",

Yea, it wasn't as "peppy" as it has been. No burning smell or clanking etc...

But now, after I went and bought a motor for it, it started working again. I don't know whether to just replace the motor anyway or wait for it to freeze up again.

You think I am in the right direction thinking it's the motor? When it was stuck there was no noise coming from the window when the button was pushed ( no clanking, etc...). I could hear the switch clicking when I pushed the up/down button also.

Thanks Bob.
