anti lock brake light/ touchy brakes

I have a 97 safari, when i barely touch the brakes they damn near throw me thru the windshield. and the anti lock light is on, any ideas?

The fastest way to determine what is wrong with the ABS system is to scan the ABS controller for codes. Some of the more common ABS problems on these trucks are the ABS power and power relay and rear wheel sensor problems, especially on AWDs.

The extra sensitive brakes could be due to many factors including a sticking proportioning valve, worn brake booster, and this can be amplified by worn idler arms.
