'93 PA rear wheel camber
1993 PA with 250,000 miles. Searched forums but just found a thread on how to swap out bearing hub.
I think we changed out rear shocks/struts about 3 yrs ago. Daughter now driving and I notice passenger rear wheel from behind looks like camber out of whack. Sometimes positive sometimes negative. mostly negative. Something is loose. no play when grabbing wheel at 9 and 3 oclock. There is some ( about 3/8 to 1/2" ) when grabbing wheel at 12 and 6 oclock. I have heard that rear alignment is possible either w/ shims or bolt adjustment. just not sure. This can't be a be a bearing making NO NOISE can it? Tire wear is mostly inside which means neg camber. I don't see anywhere where the shock/strut clamp bolts have shifted Any ideas appreciated. |

Re: '93 PA rear wheel camber
A bearing with play would allow movement in all axes, not just vertical (12 and 6 o'clock). I'd suspect the lower control arm bushings, lower ball joint, and/or lower mount for the rear strut.

Re: '93 PA rear wheel camber
You'll need another set of eyes to look underneath while you move the wheel to isolate for sure where the play is. I have seen bearings with play not cause a noise. Could be bearing, bushing, ect...

Re: '93 PA rear wheel camber
I agree with Bowtie...not a bearing if it doesn't move at 9/3 position.....
Agree with Gmtech1....jack it up and create movement, and have another set of eyes to see where the movement is coming from..... |
