1999 S10 front brake caliper removal

What tool do I need to remove the calipers on the front of my 99 s10? I need to replace the pads. Looks like it needs a special tool, one that I am going to have to buy.

Look at this set pictures.

I've used allen heads and torx I would look at the picture the ones at the right are torx. T47 and T50 are more common look at your bolt and try to match the size. Some use metric sockets usually a 12mm.

Thanks for the reply.
It looks like the one in the middle of that picture, star shaped. I hate having to buy a set of tools that I will probably only use one tool out of once then never need again. I wish they would just go back to good old nuts and bolts.

Thanks

The parts stores sell individual torx sockets.

My 1998 S-10 uses 9mm allen head bolts for the calipers. I'm working on it right now.

The parts store will lend you the proper tools.
All you have to do is put deposit on them and get your money back when you return it. The cost of the deposit is equal to the cost of purchase just in case you don't return it.

Almost any tool you buy to do these jobs is cheaper than having someone else do it. There's a chance you'll need the star wrench again if you ever do another brake job.

I have had tools that laid in my boxes for years without being used, suddenly be the only tool that would take a needed part a part.
