Heater control problem

89 300 E Problem...heater control buttons and blower buttons don't work, hi-heat blasts out defroster vents. On occasion (very rarely) all the sudden the blower come on, all the controls seem to work. At this point if push off button...it turns off, and the heat stops also. On restarting the car...no controls again!

Re: Heater control problem

In my case, the solution was to buy a used heater control module.
Relatively simple un-plug/remove and plug-in/ replace effort.

No problem since.

Good luck.

Re: Heater control problem

Thank you very much for replying... So that fixed the fan not blowing as well as fixing the temperature control? Did you just get it at a junkyard? How much did it cost? Thanks again

Re: Heater control problem

It was a used unit, found it on the internet. Don't remember the source or the cost. Suggest check out eBay or Google the part to begin finding leads.

Re: Heater control problem

I think ebay will be the best thing to search.
