95 camry starting problem
I have an unusual starting problem. When I turn on the ignition of my camry the check engine light is supposed to come on and when the engine starts it goes off and only comes back on if there's a problem. My problem is my check engine light doesn't come on all the time when I turn on the ignition and if it doesn't come on the engine won't start. It only starts with the light on and then runs fine until the light goes off then it shuts down as if I turned off the ignition and won't restart until the check engine light comes on again. I have changed out the ECM twice with used supposedly good replacements. Anyone have a problem like this, or better yet a solution? Thanks.

Re: 95 camry starting problem
I found an answer to my starting problem. I went to "just answer.com" and they helped me find out that I had a bad EFI main relay. You can check your relay by putting 12 volts to the 2 poles in the open circuit and then check continuity across the two other poles. With the relay out you can jump the 2 open circuit conecters in the fusebox and the car should start. No thanks to everybody who read but didn't comment on my question.

Re: 95 camry starting problem
FYI- When I checked the relay it checked out OK. So don't presume the relay is OK. You can jump across the the 2 open connecters in the fusebox and if the car starts then the relay is bad even tho it checks out good.
