2003 Malibu wont start

We've removed the filter and tried starting it to see if any fuel was getting pumped. The result was just a little trickle of gas coming out. So we're thinking that it is the pump. But just wondering if there is anything else to look at or test before replacing the pump.

My bro-in-law said that once while driving it was feeling very sluggish while going down the highway.

Any advice would be greatly welcomed. Thanks

Problem Solved! It turned out to be the fuel pump relay.
