starting/coolin problem
Hi i have a 1990 Camaro RS 5.0 and when it gets hot, usually only on days in the high 80's or above, after diving it for a while and parking it, it wont start after till it cools down. it used to have this problem a while back until it just would not start anymore. so i read into it a little bit and ended up putting a resistor to bypass the vatts. its been working fine until now when its hot in California. when i turn it off and go to turn it back on it will not start, the temp gets high, the radiator hose sweels like the thermostat is not letting water in. i changed my thermostat and it still does it to me. does anybody have any suggestions on what it is? i need some help

Re: starting/coolin problem
will it crank when you try to start it or is just a slow crank? definetely an overheating issue if hose is swollen. start with the easy stuff, take the thermo out completely, check the fan fuse, make sure fan is working. you can also test the rad pressure should be 12-15 lbs
