a/c problems
Hello Guys, I have a A/C problem. when I cam e back to town a few weeks ago, the a/c stopped working, I looked at the clutch and it wasn't engaged. So I tried to jump the cycle switch. Still doesn't come on. I turn the engine off and pulled the wire off the clutch. I started the engine and put a test light on it and I have power to the clutch on both sides of the plus. I figured that the clutch must be bad. I bought a clutch kit and put it on today. And again, same problem. There's power getting to the compressor, but its not engaging. Relay is fine, but it clicks when the A/C is on. Here are some good questions.
First, even though I am getting power to the compressor, am I getting enough? Does anyone know the voltage its supposed to have? EATC- Does this provide just a signal to tell something else to turn the compressor on or does it send voltage to the compressor and this might be my problem. Compressor, maybe its bad???

Re: a/c problems
damn thats gotta be a let down for it not to work after puting the clutch kit on it. did you get the blower control all fixed ? maybe the problem is related ? sorry i don't have a shop manual or i'd check to see what it says about the voltages. i'd say that the eatc probably has to send some kind of signal/power to turn it on, or theres a module/relay in between? i think my buddy might have a shop manual i'll ask him for it and let you know what it says in there.

Re: a/c problems
Bad EATC. At least I had plenty in stock to use.
