im from ohio and just got back from there a couple days ago from my understanding all neons or front or rear lights are illegal unless there yellow or white and neons i think they are legal except for blue and red but in ohio they dont really inforce neons or front lights cause i was there all summer with blue parking lights and i got pulled over for running a red light and the cop said he wasnt even worried about the blue lights and luckly he let me off with a warning

they distract other drivers on the road, or the distract the driver in the car(interior). I just called the PD a couple days ago on this, and (i'm in WI), he said that all neons no matter if the tube, or glow is showing is ILLEGAL outside the car when the car is moving. If the car is in park, blue is illegal, but all others are LEGAL. Interior neons are ILLEGAL if you can see the glow from outside the car. Screw that, i'm doing interior neons anyways!

Re: Neon Lights (legal or not)
Last winter I had my LED underbody lights on a flash pattern without realizing it during the day. A cop chased me down a busy street till I pulled over in a residential area. The cop asked me to turn the lights back on and I had a bewildered look and asked him "do I have a headlight out?" he shook his head and said "no the blue flashing lights I saw , turn them on" I looked down at the led controll box and it was already on and flashing an annoying pattern of eratic lights. "They are on" I replied and added "but I didnt realize they were on, infact I had to get a boost in the parking lot at work cus the battery was dead that would explain why it was dead"
Needless to say he wasnt impressed and demanded I remove them right there on the spot. I told him no way in hell there expensive , Its -30'c , its the middle of the day sunshining and I dont drive with them on intentionally. He said he was going to give me a $420 stunting ticket and I said no way to that as well. He was quite persistant till he got called to an emergency and let me go providing that I had proof a week later that I had them removed , I signed a document summons that stated I agree to provide proof they were removed and before the "I agree" I put a ^DO NOT above the agree and signed it. He shook his head again and took off. A week later I had a call at work from the police to go in and prove they were removed and I said no. That was 6 months ago and they havent phoned me since. I think its unlawfull but hard to prove in court unless the cop has video or picture proof they are on. Another thing I learned they are legal to have on your car but not legal to turn them on while in motion. 420 dollars? Kiss my butt , and if people cant tell the difference between the two , get off the damn road. Sorry for the looong story but Im speaking from a harassing expirience. I do respect the law but come on people my lights shine blue not red and blue get with the program.

Not all underglow is illegal in Wisconsin while moving. My friends dad is the cheif of Police in the city i live in and he asked him about it and so the other day he looked it up and he said u can drive with white neons on but only white but that depends on the glow...if the glow is really bright u cant but if the glow isnt extremely bright then u can drive with them on.

yeah, spinners, etc... should be outlawed, lol. Damn, if you can have white neons on, then i'm going to be okay(i'm doing a white neon setup), well, just the interior and front grill, but still. I live in S. Point, and i called the police on the topic, and he said it was illegal, hmm, our cops suck though, my friend got pulled over for an ilegal bug deflector(it was lightly tinted over the liscence plate, and when i mean lightly, i mean you can't notice the tint umless you place it next to a stock one. My friend has a awesome idea, hes going to put red neons in the rear(which light up with the brake lights), amber on the side, which goes with the turns, and white in front, it's all legal, it all works, and it doesn't look half bad.

Re: Neon Lights (legal or not)
Thats cool. Yeah I live in Horicon if you know where that is and my friends dad is the chief of Police here and he said you can drive with white on as long as they are a certain brightness. They cant be extremely bright or you cant drive with them on but if they are about the same brightness as your headlights its pretty much fine. He made a copy of the neons laws out of his book the other day and gave it to me.

I live in Missouri, on an AFB, and supposedly all are legal except Blue and Red... Well I had noticed that off-base, there are a lot of people driving around w/ greens and blues and reds... So i was confused. Well I decided to test this out, and I bought the neons that you change colors w/ Well I started out w/ a light blue driving around where all the cops would be... Nothing happened. I started to get darker and nothing happened... Well I decided to go red... As soon as I turned them red a cop chased me down and came to my window... Thinkin how am I gonna explain this... he simply asked where I got them and how much they costed... WIth relief i gladly told him... Well It was time to go home and i went to get back onto base and got on.... Drove no more than 30 feet when i got flagged down by a base cop who told me its illegal to drive w/ neons on... so i turned them off. SO i dunno any real explanation on whats considered illegal in any state w/ skitzo cops on the streets....

Re: Neon Lights (legal or not)
In some states or cities it really depends on the cop...some cops wont care...they could be right behind u while you have neons on and they wont give a crap but some will pull a u-turn to pull you over. In little cities they will do that but in bigger cities cops wont really care, the have other stuff to worry about.
