Replacing clutch difficulties... plz help

I have a 2000 eclipse gt. I am trying to remove the transmission in order to replace the clutch. I have removed both drive shafts, unscrewed all bolts holding transmission in place, and tried to pull it apart from the engine. The transmission moved 1 inch and then it stopped. I was told that I need to disingage the throw out bearing with a screwdriver, but this doesnt seem to work, or i might be doing it wrong.

Please help.. I need this car to drive to work and back.

uhhhhhhhhh......

rear engine mount? i belive that has to come out as well

i do kno there is a pin in the trans a ways up you need a long piece of metal at least 2 ft. long to reach (at least on the 2003 models) that they had trouble w/ when they did my car
have you found this yet?

Re: Replacing clutch difficulties... plz help

you haven't ordered a clutch yet? crap,

if i were you i'd get an ACT heavy duty, it has not TOB rattle and if you plan on being modded, otherwise and clutch KIT will work off e-bay, i bought an exedy stock replacement kit for less than 200$

spec is good, but its got quite the break-in period and i have heard it won't hold up to some constant racing , it'll start to slip, but will go back to normal afterwards which wouldn't matter with a normal everyday driver

any plans on getting a flywheel?

preeeeetttyyy funny about the plate, you gotta read the fine print on all of the ebay stuff you purchase!!! just to be safe!

no you don't need a new flywheel, you DO need to resurface the one you have though if you do not get a new one

my rear engine mount? yeah its alright, not a problem so far, but i dont kno how it SHOULD feel so i have nothing to compare it to, def. more firm and responsive than stock though, and i get some vibration through the steering wheel, which i didn't before hand

big difference in driveability (feels sooo much better)

which brand did you go w/???

if i had another chance i would have gone with deyeme just for ease of install since it isn't an insert
