94 Grand Prix Door Handle Installation

Hi, I am having trouble replacing the outside door handle on my driver side door. The old handle broke off but when I opened the door up to replace it with a new one I found out that the rods that connect the handle and lock to the door assembly are completely disconnected from the car. How do I reinstall the door handle rods?

I need to figure out where to connect these rods inside the door so that the door handle can open the door from the outside.

Tell you what.....I've broken 3 handles on my '93 since ................well...'93 and not once has the rods come apart from inside the door. Wow!

You'll have to take your door panel off and look inside the door to rehook it. Take it off the handle first though.

your next question will be...how to remove the door panel....i will be watching for that response,as i know there must be a trick to it... lol...when replacing the handle on my 93 GP,i found the rod was bent...i tried to remove the door panel,and gave up after about an hour....i straightened it best i could and is working ok...good luck

Ok, I have the door panel off from the inside of the car but I still cannot see exactly where the rods need to be connected.
