Question 94 aerostar electrical problems

Alright, I just replaced the battery a week ago and driving one day the speedometer quits on me soon followed by the digital odometer going blank. All the while I'm still driving it,then the warning lights start going on,rear ABS,check engine, the radio fades out, etc.. Finally everything shuts down and I glide to a stop. Initially the hazards wouldn't even go on. I noticed that the battery charge gauge had dropped to nothing as well. A few days later in my driveway the van starts up fine but as I sit there I watch as all the things I described happen again in a matter of a few minutes.Anyone ever had this happen,or know what may be going on ?
