91 Regal GS f*up starting

My friend had his 91 regal propped up on some ramps with its nose toward the ground. Started up with no problems. Had been having no problems before then either. Took it off the ramp and now it refuses to start. He thinks it’s the fuel pump. He wants to replace it without dropping his tank, which is currently half full. This is where I come in. He wants me to see if I can find the approximate location of the pump so he can go through the floor board in the backseat. I would appreciate any help provided, as I cannot find a darn thing on the net that doesn’t tell me to drop the G.D. tank. Maybe he should just take it to the crusher.

Welcome to AF.

You have to drop the gas tank to replace the fuel pump on pre 1996 Regals. For 1997 and up Regals GM added an access cover which does not require dropping the gas tank.

But does the '96 require dropping the fuel tank also?
