lift or drop

i have been looking around for some stance options i have for my 96 bravada and so far havent found much. i like the dropped look of most vehicles, but with the all wheel drive i seem to believe lifting would be a better option. the only problem is that i have not been able to find much about either option, sky high or low down.

i have heard of people cranking torsion bars to get the desired stance but i was looking for more of a kit deal. i mean i can crank my bars ad get it higher and put blocks on the rear to get it in the air more. i have even heard people you can buy different keys to put on the torsion bars because the stock ones only give you about an inch.

has anyone found a better way, if so please let me know.

Re: lift or drop

Torsion bars are for adjusting chassis ride height only. Increasing front ride height above factory specifications increases the tension, (twist) on the bars and will narrow the range that they operate in due to the added stress. At best you'll shorten the life of the bars, at worst they'll break. Increasing or decreasing front ride height out of factory specs adds stress to all 4 CV joints, all 4 ball joints, and to both of the outer tie rod ends. They all have a range of motion that they are designed to operate within. Keeping front ride height within specs keeps all of the components within their range of motion. In short, you're asking for trouble when front ride height is above or below factory specifications.

If you are looking for a lift, do a body lift and leave torsion bar adjustment to a wheel alignment pro.
