Cutlass dies sometimes

My 1990 Cutlass sometimes hesitates and dies when coming to a stop .Will start ok, but when put into gear dies.

Disconnect the TCC plug on the trans and see what happens, these are common symptoms for the TCC solenoid staying on and causing the stall.
