97 Altima GXE Oil

I went to check the spark plugs today and found quite a bit of oil in the first 2 plugs. The last 2 were dry. What is the problem?

It may be worn rings or worn out plugs. It could also be a leaking valve cover gasket which leaves oil on top of the cylinder head. When you removed the plugs the oil dripped down onto the plug tips. I had to replace my gasket on a 98. Run the motor for a day, remove the plug wires and use a flashlight look at the area.
