Anyone know the top speed of an auto stock 2000 G20?

The G20 when it gets up there its kinda strange. I let my friend which is a cops son (hence we didn't get a ticket) drive it to well the speedometer registered 130 but the rpm meter kept goin so i guess the speedpmeter stops at 130 but the car goes faster. I hit about 7300 rpm before the engine dropped the rev

I've had my 2001 G up to 125 mph, and it felt like there was plenty left. Then my buddy yells, "slow down!, what are your tires rated for?" I thought oh crap, what are they rated? i wussed out and slowed down....man stuff comes up quick at the speed.

Yea, ive gone about 125.....there definitly feels like there is more there

i have had my g up to 140 got clocked by a radar gun still had a little more left it felt like

Probaly Pretty close to 140 it was pretty close to topped out

If I am not mistaken, there is no top speed limiter (governor) on the G20's. Atleast the P10's do not from what I hear. I do not know anything about the P11's. I had an NX2000 (recently sold) and about 2 years ago I ran it out on a desolate hwy. The speedo read an estimated 143 MPH and still wanted to go more.

I believe the top speed is inhibited by the aoredynamics of the car and just how much oomph the car has in stock form.

The '96 Infiniti G20 brochure states top speed is 130MPH.

The only 'governor' I am aware of is the RPM limiter (Redline).

A governer is usually a little bit of info built into the ecu.....you can get it taken off, for example, when you get your ecu reworked by , say, JWT, they remove both governer and rev limters......most cars have some sort of a governer, (M's, by BMW, all have their gov set at 155mph).....hope that helps! :licker: :licker: :licker: :licker:

I've hit it a couple times, but didn't see where it was at. oops...my excuse is I was trying to watch the road.

lol........good excuse...........anyways, i think its about 7200 rpms.......about there.......
