DTC P0748 2001 Voltswagen VW Cabrio Automatic Trans

2001 Volkswagen Cabrio 2.0L I4 EFI / MPI 4 speed automatic 112000+ miles
The check engine light came on and the transmission is stuck in the third gear. Scanned the code and it gave me P0748 "Pressure Control Solenoid Electrical". The display on the dash that shows what gear you are in (P R N D 3 2 1 ) is intermittently all lighted up and does not tell you what gear you are in. Also If I clear the DTC P7048 it seems to shift ok for a short time...but soon sticks in 3 gear. The Check engine light may not come on until the car ignition is cycled. I have checked the Tranny fluid and ok. Doesn't look like any damaged or oil soaked wiring.
I assume this "Pressure Control Solenoid" is inside the transmission.

Does anyone know what wires or how to test a Pressure Control Solenoid?

Does anyone Know where I can find Electrical schematics for the 2001 cabrio? I have a Haynes repair manual but not much info on Tranny wiring.

Thanks
