Mike here. Just bought a '90 Trofeo, and it has a new ignition keylock assy, so I dont have to sweat the GM passkey.
It is so ugly and beat up, no one would steal her anyway!

Love this car for a daily beater, but the infamous IPC tach-only death has started. Ebay seller that repairs them seems okay, $130 w/ core. Anyone tried him?

Ive wanted a Toro or trofeo since they appeared, but this is my first. Only non-EOM is 17'' Katana Mk 6 wheels in gunmetal with Conti Contact tires. Nicer than the MkVIII Lincoln Intech I had, but slower. This is my third Buick v6/3800; just gave my son my 98 Camaro 3800 II 5sp stick (so the Trofeo IS his Father's Oldsmobile!), and had an 75 Olds Starfire 4sp back in the day.

I know these cars have the water-based GM primer, and my white paint is flaking off in sheets! Anybody have advise on repainting these cuties?

Tks.
