93/94 Dodge Spirit

We have a 93 or 94 Dodge Spirit that is not running. V-6 3.0 engine. Apparently the intake went bad and leaked a lot of water and caused the car to run hot. One day my son was driving the car and it died. Would not jump and not even try to turn over.
I am thinking about getting the engine rebuilt. The body is still good and the inside is like new. Someone told me that a piston is probably water locked.
Not sure if it damaged the head or not....probably did with my luck. I have checked with a salvage yard and can have it rebuilt for around $600. These guys do a great job.
So does anyone have any thoughts on the diagnosis or ideas about the engine?

Re: 93/94 Dodge Spirit

Really, these types of things can be managed by mechanics only.
