Ashtray light and gauge probelm

Ok, first problem. I recently had some new gauge overlay installed in my car. Everything works great except the needles for the gas and oil temperature. The gas is reading full or a little below that, and the oil temperature is ready below cool.

I have no idea how to fix it. I read somewhere where they said to let the car warm up and place the needles where they would be normally when the car is at running tempurature. Is that work a try or should I take it my local mechanic who does most of the work on my car and have them look at it?

Also, the light in my ashtray isn't working. At first I thought it was burnt out so I replaced it with a LED one but nothing. Replaced the one in my glove box too and that works. Is there a fuse that might be blown thats for the ashtray light?

I might end up tear it the who blasted thing out when I put in racing seat and a center console.

Any help would be nice.
