worn out oil pump

Hi, I just notice that the clearance in my e150 89 5.0L oil pump is too much. Here's some pics.

Re: worn out oil pump

New pumps are available at most auto machine shops or parts stores.

Re: worn out oil pump

I just started to put in a new pump, man this is not an easy job it took me almost 20 minutes just to align the shaft to the pump working inside the pan, passing my hands here and there, what a puzzle hopefully I raised the engine 6 inches and it gives me enough space to work in. The old pump was aluminium case but the new is steel and much heavier to manipulate. I torque the bolts to specifications by chance I sticked my gasket on the pan before putting it back under the engine. my U rubber are in place, now its a little bit cold outside, so I'm taking a break right now. Later in the afternoon I will put the pan in place and lower the engine. By the way I had to cut the exhaust pipe that crosses the pan to take it out. I bought a 2 1/4 X 2 1/4 inch adaptor with 2 U bolts to reconnect the pipe after. Well this is it for know,
