1999 plymouth neon clutch release cable

My clutch release cable broke on my 1999 Plymouth Neon just wondering any good tips for an easy fix
problem has been fixed and not one single reply I guess if I ever need advise on what type of engine oil I should use I should use this site besides that its a waste of time.

What was the problem? Sorry I was unable to reply, but I have been extremely busy with moving into a new house and all.

A Haynes manual would be a great help. You need to 1. CAREFULLY pull the power distribution center up and out of its bracket and move it out of the way., 2. remove the clutch cable inspection cover on the bell housing. 3. pull back on the clutch housing and disengage it from the groove in the bell housing and then disconnect it from the release lever. 4. At the clutch pedal, slightly depress the pedal to allow access to the cable and then remove the clip securing the up stop/spacer to the clutch pedal. Wedge a small, flat bladed screwdriver between the clutch pivot pin the up stop/spacer and then pull the up stop/spacer from the pivot pin and remove the up stop/spacer from the clutch cable (be careful not to pull UP on the clutch cable while removing it from the dash panel so you do not damage the self adjuster. 5. in the engine compartment old onto the grommet and using a twisting motion remove the clutch cable grommet from the firewall and clutch bracket.

Reinstall: 1. carefully using a twisting motion insert the clutch cable (engine compartment side) through the fire wall grommet and clutch bracket. 2. in passenger compartment set the cylindrical part of the grommet into the fire wall opening and clutch bracket (make sure the self adjuster is firmly seated against the clutch bracket). 3. Connect the clutch cable onto the up stop/spacer and install the spacer on to the clutch pedal pivot pin. Install clip and be sure it is properly seated. 4. In engine compartment, using light pressure pull the clutch cable end to draw clutch cable taut. Push the cable housing toward the fire wall with light pressure, the housing should move about one inch (this tells you that you have the proper adjustment). 5. guide cable through the slot in bell housing and connect it to the release lever seating the cupped washer securely in the release lower tangs. 6. Pull back on clutch cable housing and insert it into the bell housing. 7. install the clutch cable inspection cover onto the bell housing.

If this confuses you, buy a Haynes manual and go with pictures and text.

Can u please tell me how do tou fix your cable ....?? or you just bougth the cable i have the same problem whit my plymouth brezee i can not find the F..&&%&$# cable in my country. this is my mail

He said he wasnt able to shift it, even with the clutch pedal all the way down, and that this happened in one day of driving. His mechanic said he needed a clutch cable. I dont know how experienced his mechanic is. I think the problem could also be a bad clutch release fork, or even a clutch disc that was flaking apart from being burnt. But... a bad clutch cable is the only problem that could be fixed without the need to remove the transmission.
I told him to post in the Plymouth Breeze forum - althrough there is not much activity there.
He wondered if the cable was the same as one a P.T. Cruiser or other mopar product. The part # was 04593333, CABLE CLUTCH RELEASE


The local Dodge dealer here could get the cable in one or two days. I will send hector a p.m. with the cost.
