03 tahoe! Rpms rise and drop

my 5.3 2003 tahoe has an rpm rise and drop at 500 rpms in idle whenever there is and ac/heater load. It also has turned off on a couple of occasions but always starts right away. please help

I would clean the Throttle Body first as when they get dirty they can cause a rough idle. I clean mine every 10K miles or so.

It sounds like you might have to replace the throttle position senser. I had the same problem on my 2001 tahoe. If it is the TPS it will also set the engine light on.
