1995 88 - stalled, wont jump start. New battery, radio works, etc...

I just got it about 3 weeks ago. It's been running great.

1995 88 royale. 3.8 v6 - 166,000 miles.

Today while driving it felt like it was going to stall a couple times then it stalled. It started right back up. Then It stalled again but wouldn't start this time.

I had to walk a mile in a snow storm with open toed shoes to a payphone.

I was told it was probably the battery. So I got a ride and bought a new battery. It's still not starting, tried to jump it but same thing. The bat cables looked ok.

It just clicks once and nothing.

All interior lights and radio works fine.

I've been searching the forums for similar problems and have found some. The thing is, if it's the starter like some say, then would that cause it to stall like it did? If it's the alternator then it should still start or at least jump right?

Can anyone give me some ideas? Thanks for any help.

could be a plugged fuel filter. If it is turning over fine, but not firing, you may want to check fuel pressure and spark. just some basics. Also see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key to the on position/ no start. You should hear a buzzing coming from the rear of the car.
