'88 Sprint

I have a manual 1988 Sprint turbo that I got for free. It runs awesome, but the transmission hasn't ever had 1st gear. I think the synchronizers are shot. I would like to replace the tranny if possible, but I can't find another manual sprint that has been scrapped anywhere near me, and I can't find a tranny that will match up to the engine. Anyone have any suggestions?

If it really runs that well, pay a TRUSTED mechanic to pull it, and get it repaired properly. The clutch disc has probably got extra wear if it has always been started from second gear. AND, the U-joints are probably in GOOD condition, from one less shift every time
