Trunk Lid Wont Stay Open

i have a 96 Pontiac Sunfire my trunk lid wont stay open one of the torque rods are off how would i go about to put it back on

Grab it and put it on. I adjusted mine by just putting on a pair of gloves, grabbing it, and using brute force.
