passport coolant o-ring size

i just had the o-rings for the 2 coolant pipes (located under the intake) go out on my 95 3.2 passport, and they were so bad that they crumbled in my hands, so i really didnt get a good look at them to find there replacement. the first ones i got were to thick and i couldnt get the pipes back in so i went and got some thinner ones. well after putting everything back together and thinking it was fine, 2 days of driving and it started leaking again. does anyone know the exact sizes i need for the 2 different o-rings, i mean the technical term like the length width, diameter, girth, which ever it may be so that i can just go and pick them up and tell them the exact size i need, cause nobody seems to know the right ones at the auto stores. i just get alot of (this may work) answers from them. also some pointers on getting the pipes back in would be helpful, like if i need to put any sealant on them. I read many post on here and thought i was ready for this job but maybe I just missunderstood something.
thanks in advance for any help,
scott

Re: passport coolant o-ring size

Quick answer - no, order it from the dealer.

The generic part never seems to fit right or work. I got mine from St. Charles Automotive in MO. Seems ridiculous, but it saved more time, money, aggravation to just get it from the dealer.

Re: passport coolant o-ring size

I just did mine I picked up the orings from napa. i took the pipes down and found the best fit. The guy at the counter used to do them at the dealer and the dealer orings leaked also if you didn't use the grey silicon rtv stuff. I put mine together using the 3 cent orings and RTV then pressure tested. All is good. It suck to take all that apart again. Napa was able to get all the hoses also. One heater hose was $30. Thats nuts. but no more leaks. Good luck
