5.9L durango 4x4

I have a 2000 durango almost 95k miles was driving the best all at once with no warning the tranny starts slipping as it began to pass 10mph to shift into 2nd thier was no gear to hit so I slowed down until it shifted to 1rst and made it home like that. I changed the fluid and filter they were full of tiny shavings and I also put some slick 50 through it first and then added the fluid on top of that. it seemed to be like brand knew for a few days shifting smoother than befor, then all at once it began to do the same. I also had a loud sound from tranny and it left as well I believe it was the pump. SINCE IT IS STILL PULLING IN REVRESE AND 1RST AND I DIDNT HAVE THE TRANNY FLUSHED IS IT WORTH FLUSHING AND TRYING A FILTER JOB AGAIN i BELIEVE IT IS JUST STOPPED UP WITH THOSE SHAVINGS I DIDNT GET. WILL THOSE SHAVINGS JUST CONTINUE TO FALL OUT OF SOMEWHERE PLEASE HELP
