Re: reveiw: spring VS spring

The shape of the spring is intresting.
It is a tapered end muffler spirng. One side is flat, the other one is tapered.

I made spring with two tapered ends by hands long time ago, too.
That need extreme patience, and the spring turned to be very hard.
I could only twist thin wire ,so ,the spring was not flexible at all.

So,I am doubt that these man-made springs are merely like what I had made before.

Now ,need to test its extension.
I hold the spring position with two pins.

Now,test the flexibility.
Yes,it is very flexible, does not like what I made.

This is a muffler exhaust pipe from my RC-211V 2003.I have never finished this build.
Just chose a place at random to assemble the tapered spring.

Re: reveiw: spring VS spring

I was dropped from the internet yesterday. So the reveiw is not actually finished.
Let me contiune it,otherwise, you guys will not understand why the title is marked as spring VS spring

Okay.here is a normal flat end spring I bought from the market. It is pretty tiny, too.

It was easily damaged by my tweezers when I tried to apply it on the PE mount.
The T2M spring was hold by the pins for two weeks, but when I placed it on the pipe,it was still in good condition.

I had to use another flat spring for my reveiw.
Here is how it looks after assembled.

Now,let's make the comparation.
The wire of the flat end spring is too thin.

Re: reveiw: spring VS spring

Let's see the comparation with a real spring.
Are they much alike?

Forgive my English, though I have tried my best to illustrate by pictures.

Nice work; nice photography.

What did you use to attach the muffler spring mounts to the muffler? Epoxy?

Re: reveiw: spring VS spring

damn :-( nowhere else. The shipping costs are so high at hiroboy and there is no way to get in contact with the owner to ask for anything else.

too bad
