Double Din Aftermarket Radio
Okay, so I bought a double din, touch screen CD/DVD player for my 2005 Pontiac G6. As you probably know, the G6 has the Information display in the stock radio, so when I took the touch screen to get installed, they said that the information display cannot be run through the touch screen and the car cannot run without this information display. So they said the alternative, buying another info. display and putting it somewhere else in the car would cost over $500.00. What I want to know, is why they can't remove the information display from the stock radio and put it somewhere else in the car, like the glove box. What do you guys think?

Re: Double Din Aftermarket Radio
Plenty of people have relocated the DIC to the glovebox or even center console when putting in a double din unit. good luck with the install.

Re: Double Din Aftermarket Radio
Thanks, but I have one more question, is there some sort of unit that I can buy that will put the DIC into the glove box? I've seen the single din bracket that holds the radio, but that looks tacky, I'm looking for something like that, but with just the information section by itself. Any help?

Re: Double Din Aftermarket Radio
the unit that everyone buys and puts in either the glovebox or the centerconsol is the metra kit... http://www.metraonline.com/productsl.aspx?s=99-3303
obvisouly a little fabrication will be needed to secure it.
