Need help with a colour please...

Hey guys

Looking for some inspiration for a relative quickie, I decided to play around with Tamiya's Audi Quattro & some ST27 decals for the '82 Ivory Coast Rally (Marlboro sponshorship & Michele's car of course). I've managed to find a pic of Michele's car, but I'm not sure what sort of red is being used. I'll cede that the pic is a bit grainy but it certainly doeasn't look very fluoro to me. Anyone with some more definitive suggestions...

For those not familiar with the car, try this link & scroll down...

Once I've got the red sorted, I then need to scratch up the intrusion bars for the front - that should be fun

This pic?

Paint it standard Marlboro florescent red.

The pic is old and scanned, the car is dirty. I suspect that good old Marlboro floro red is the right choice.

Re: Need help with a colour please...

Right-o, thanks boys. I just needed some extra clarification, as whatever red bits on the decals are fluoro, but that isn't necessarily always a good guide as the ST27 decals for the 2000 MC Evo VI have fluoro though the car isn't.

Off to the paint shop then...

Re: Need help with a colour please...

I might be (too) late but I confirm: FLUO RED no doubt !!
I also have it to build in 1/43rd scale.

Thnx rallymaster. Dug out my Tamiya fluoro red last night. Just have to wait for Brisbane's stupid summer weather to change. How did you build the crash bars on the front? That will be my next challenge

In fact it is provided in the 1/43 racing43 kit allowing to build Mouton's car.
but I will make it from electric wire as I am not sure it is in mine because I purchased decals and kit seperatly (and my kit is not the Ivory coast livery in fact so I'm not sure I have the Africa stuff, I should verify...)

I think that building the model in 1/24 scale makes possible quite easily to use plastic styren rods and tubes to scratch build the bars...

I will check in my hard drive if I have more pics of that car, there is also a bar on the rear...

Re: Need help with a colour please...

I found this picture on my hard drive, almost the same as above.
I thought I had more but that should be in some books.
(I'll try to take pics of it if there are some interesting views)

I also have one side view from Mikkola's car
