gauges stopped working

Drove over some railroad tracks and all of sudden my speedometer, rpm gauge, gas gauge, temperature gauge stopped working and all lights are on except for my check engine and abs light. The check engine light and abs are always on and now they're the only ones that are not on. Any Ideas anyone. Thanks

Re: gauges stopped working

If youre talking about your 96 GA then its possible the instrument cluster has a short. Which is typical with a few GA modles. The circuit boards were cheaply made and solder joints tend to fail over time.

Id check the fuses for the ICP just in case. Might also remove the ICP and check for any loose connections.
And you could even try driving back over those track. Maybe it'll jolt it back to working.

You can find working used ones and remanufactured ones on fleabay.
