4x4 question

Hi Folks;

I have a 95' S-10 2dr. 4.3 vortec and among other problems; I am having problems with my 4x4 engaging. I have read alot of sites here about possible problems and everyone refers to push buttons. I have a on the floor shift and the light comes on the 4-hi and 4-lo indicators but not on the 4 wheel diagram to indicate engagement and I have no 4x either in 4-lo or 4-hi.
Am I to use the same advice as the push button people are using or is there other advice to check into? OK that's that question.

Now I live in Alaska and when it is cold like around 20 or below my little sweetie runs and when it is above twenty she refuses to except fuel and will sputter out and die(so do I as I deliver pizzas). She will start right back up but will continue to do the same thing. I am going to replace the fuel intake sensor as I have already replaced the fuel filter and pump and still acts the same. I'd pull my hair out but I am bald. Any advice?

A side note here: when replacing fuel pump I took a grinding wheel to the cargo deck inside the Blazer and cut a square through the deck above the fuel pump entrance. Reaching through the opening was so much easier and faster than dropping the tank to remove the pump. Removed and replaced in no time at all and simply took a piece of sheet metal a little larger than opening cut out and with a little silicone and six self starting scews all was well. Didn't fix my problem but it sure saved some time !!

Re: 4x4 question

Is the front drive shaft locking in?
If so is right front axel locking in?
There should be a switch on front axel lock in housing to tell when it is locked in to switch the dash light on.
On front axel lock in.
