Code/fix help please

hi, I have a 2000 contour SE v6 and recently have had trouble with iradic idle and when left it will stall or when your driving and have to stop it will stall also. The check engine light has come on with the rough idle,it has a few codes p0171, p0174, p0301, p0303, p1131, p1151. Thanks

As soon as I see the 171 and 174 (lean bank one and bank two) I immediately go fro the smoker to check for vacuum leaks. The ruff idle and stalling you described are also classic symptoms. You can carefully spray carb spray (it is flameable and it can start a fire) around the intake/plenum and see if the idle changes if it does the gaskets under the plenum are leaking.

If I had to guess, your upper intake manifold gaskets are breaking down and leaking. I would replace both the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets and see if that fixes the problem. Also check the throttle body gasket for leaks, PCV system hoses connecting to the rubber accordian tube, and the rubber hose connecting to the 3/8" brass tube on the lower side of the upper intake manifold.
