First AF Project (warning: lots of pics)

This is my first time posting on AF but i have been browsing around the board for a little while now. I figured i should post some pics of my latest project so that i can get some tips and comments. So anyway here it goes.

First, its a Tamiya 1/24 Clk Dtm Warsteiner car

I have completed the interior and motor detail and am beginning to paint the body now. I had a little trouble getting apropriate primer as this is the first model that i am really taking seriously.

Picture of the motor (sorry about the blurryness)

Some pictures of the interior

As always i have taken the usual "artistic interpretations" on some of the colors and such (as well as the 2 smaller roll supports on the rear bulkhead). Today i am hoping to primer the body so that i can get the real painting done soon. If anyone has any comments or things that look bad i would love the advice. Next up is a Toyota GT-One so ill need all the tips i can get.

Ill probably be making another post of some of my previous models ( i have about 12) so that you guys can laugh at my first attempts.

thanks
Matt

Well thank you all for the warm welcome. Its nice to see an online message board that dosent always flame people and is actually friendly. Unfortunatly to all the mercedes fans i am actually more of a toyota/lexus guy (my next big project is a toyota gt-one) although serious respect is due to this pimp car.

I spent most of my day off trying to find some tamiya rubbing compound but there is aparently none in the state of Massachusetts. The closest i got was some crazy sounding guy at one store told me to try Stop&Shop brand hand cream. He says thats what he uses and it is abrasive enough.... I now have smooth hands but the car i tried it on is still rough . Anyway i finally gave up and orderd about 5 tubes online ( i heard it is going out of production. rumor?).

I also got the primer coats done so i took some pictures kinda quick. They are kinda blurry so they arent too helpful but you guys can take a look.

Primered (<-- not sure if that is a word)

the photos make the primer seem a little rough but it is smooth in real life. And as always critisism is welcome.

thanks
Matt

ps. The CLK DTM Original-Teile done by Chain is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen....im still crying : :

The primer seems a bit rough indeed, but when you say it's ok, then no problem. Nice spray-stand you use there

Oh and, it's a very friendly place here indeed. We have kinda of a Police-Squad-Mods who are patrolling overhere. So flaming is stopped even before it starts. They do a -job overhere!

haha thanks alot MajorA, I try not to disappoint especially when there are Merc fans around giving you tips.
But try to look around when U have the time. there are much much better projects than mine being posted. You'll be surprise, trust me. You will also find that the Toyota you are planning to do has be done before, so there wont be a shortfall of projects to help you out there.

You came to the right place for all your modeling FAQs too.
