Honda Odyssey Tuned by Absolute

Today I decided to start a new project.

It's the Honda Odyssey from Aoshima with Absolute bodykit.

Let's take a look inside the kit. It's curbside, but there are a lot of parts

Smoked windows for the back of the car.

Bodykit:

The very nice OZ Opera wheels

I can choose about 2 different rearbumpers. They look very simillar, but 1 is clean, and 1 have a place for reflectors or lights. I like the clean bumper, so I'll use that one.

The same is with the frontbumper. 1 is with hidden foglights and the other have foglights in a bulb or something like that. 1 bumper also have a nice mesh grille, so I'll use that one.

I also got a bit of bmf in the kit, and a piece of sanding paper...

I started to fit the bodykit on the body. Frontbumper and sideskirts are not a problem, but the rearbumper doesn't fitt good at all. I always have this problem with Aoshima.
While I used some extra force to glue the rearbumper, the whole thrunk came from the body

Now I glued the whole rear with some extra heavy glue. You can see it on the pics because I used a lot. This will be sanded away when it's complete dry.

The exteriorcolor will be Tamiya Dark Deep Metallic Blue. And I'm thinking about 2 grey colors for the interior.

Kris.

Re: Honda Odyssey Tuned by Absolute

Yesterday I started with painting the body. After I had sanded all the putty I first sprayed some grey primer on it.

When this was dry, I sprayed 3 or 4 layers Dark Mica Blue on it.

It's now waiting for some decals (maybe) and his clearcoat.

Re: Honda Odyssey Tuned by Absolute

Yesterday I clearcoated the body after putting the few decals on it.

I used 3 layers of TS-13 and I'm sattisfied by the result. The dust you see is just on the surface and not in the paint

Now I'll have to wait a week and than I can polish the body!

Re: Honda Odyssey Tuned by Absolute

Today I completed the chassis. After painting some details I wheatered the whole chassis.

The suspension was also placed. Aoshima did the're homework by making a lowering system, so I don't have to make my own lowering.

After finishing this, I tryed a dryfit with the wheels but they stick out to much. So I had to remove some spacers behind the discbrakes.

I also polished the body. This time no sanding but only the 3 Tamiya compounds and a bit of carwax. I love the shine 8)

And I dryfit with the wheels. Here you can see the wheels which stick out to much.

When I find some time I start with the interior and go further with the body....

Re: Honda Odyssey Tuned by Absolute

Last week I started with the interior. I tryed different color combinations but nothing works for me.

I asked my girlfriend for a color combination and they said. Light Grey with Medium Blue. I painted the details with polished aluminium. The interior was improved with some details like silver interiorflocking and some magazines and a iPod.

and a dryfit with the body.

Now it's time for the bodywork. I'll start with the windowtrims.

Re: Honda Odyssey Tuned by Absolute

New update:

First I painted all the windowtrims and windowrubbers. I had to mask the body because I wanted smooth trims.

Than I painted the lights. I painted them full red because I like that the most on this kind of colors.

The grille and frontbumper got some racingmesh which looks very nice in my opinion.

The mirrors are placed. I first drilled a hole in the mirror and body, and than added copperwire to glue them. Now I do'nt have to re glue the mirrors every time I polish the body

The windows are a pain in the ass to fit right. The clear front windows are good but the smoked glasses on the back are really hard to fit. Now I have used a lot of glue to place them but it isn't good quality from Aoshima.

The OZ Opera wheels got the logo's on the centers.

This is the only thing that's left over:

Meanwhile I finished the car, except for the frontbumper. This must be placed tonight and than I have to wax the car one more time before I can take the final pictures.
