Escalade: Bling or Blah

What is your take on the Escalade (including EXT and ESV)?

Red face

if i were to have that kind of money, i would rather spend it on lexus lx470, navigatior or range rover{ aside from reliablity}. escalade has big engine, which means lower fuel economy, cheaper looking interior that both lexus and lincoln and i m not a hugh fan of hte syling itself.

Re: Escalade: Bling or Blah

When you buy something in that class, fuel economy is your last concern! What's $60 in gas to someone that makes $200k a year?

Blah

Looks like a Avalache/Suburban, A Navigator has a lot more style. If the blackwood had 4x4 it would have killed the Escalade. I don't like the F150/Lincoln either, Jesus c*** it is even called an F150 , (low budget ). Caddy & Loncoln should be mostly there own styles not just a different badge on the tailgate .

I assume you meant the Lincoln Mark LT (based on the F-150). There is just more than a different badge on the tailgate. It has more than just leather seats and wood accents. Its got a suspension mod for a better ride, a 5.4 L V8 with 300 BHP. I think it may be slightly re-worked version of the V8 in the F150, but with more power. But its much different.

I like the escalde although it does look like the same interior of say a suburban, tahoe, or a yukon. but dispite that it looks good and it has a 350.

Assuming you're referring to the NBS Escalade...I believe it doesn't come w/ a 350...not unless you did something to the 5.3 L engine (Esky comes w/ 5.3 and 6.0 engines--5.3 at least for the first couple of years on the short-bus NBS Esky).

Re: Escalade: Bling or Blah

Love the Escalade! My 2 cents,it looks worlds better than the Navi.To me,the Navi looks just like anything else on the rode. Its plain, and very cheap. And a minivan from the rear. Its just too plain. The Mark LT is nothing more than a F-150.Which the LT wasn't very impressive when I rented it to go to N.Carolina last month. An upgraded suspenion? It still feels like a pick up to me.I'll take the Lade any day.And some of you need to do your research. The Lade is much more than a rebadged Tahoe.Much more. And the engine is best in class fuel economy.Wait for the next Lade.I think you'll all be quite surprised.

Re: Escalade: Bling or Blah

Don't get me wrong, I love the Escalade. But honestly, all it is is a dressed up Avalanche/Suburban/Yukon XL. I may be wrong but that's my opinion. Even the insides are almost exactly the same, the only major difference is the Cadillac symbol.

Re: Escalade: Bling or Blah

^^ Thats true, but only really for the first (99-00) and second gen Escalade (01-06). The interiors were almost exactly the same as the Chevy/GMC counterparts. But the third gen (07-??) has its own interior. And now the leather used in GM Trucks and SUV's doesnt feel like vinyl. Not that has much to do with the above thought.

anything aside from amg/h1 isnt a real hummer in my eyes, especially the h3, thats just a dressed up explorer...

either way i love my escalade, in and out, and who ever said the interior feels like vynil couldnt be more wrong, my seats are buttery soft, not to mention 6.0l 345hp awd..yeah its a gas guzzler at 12 city/16mpg (maybe 20 with a steady foot) but dammit it does it with style, plus the 24s on it dont hurt either lol...
