If you don't mind me asking, how much did the control unit cost? Did you do it yourself, and if so was it hard to change?

Let me know if find out what the problem is because I am having the same thing happen to mine. Hot on the drivers side and cold on the passenger side. If I find out first I will let you know.

You'll have to get deeper into the system. The air flaps should be operated by electric servos. You need to locate that servo, operate the temp.control knob and look for movement at the servo.
The system uses air temp sensors to determine vent temp. You should have the body control system scanned and determine what the BCM is actually seeing. A misread vent temp would cause hot/cold problems.

i'm not familiar with the 2000 model, does it have dual zone climate control i presume?

is most likely the temp actuator door for the respective side having the temp problem(since there are 2 of you with same problem but sifferent sides of car).
